I started knitting about a year ago, and it has become an absolute obsession. I have yarn stashed in a large flat plastic container under our bed, in my knitting bag, and I think in the closet as well. I have more projects than I can count lined up, and everytime I visit either of the LYS I like here in the NW 'burbs of Minneapolis, I always find something else I just have to have!

So far I've made scarves, hats, bags and baby sweaters - now I'm working on a scarf for the oldest squid, knit in Eve's Rib pattern. I also have a shrug that I've been working on since November, on and off, made out of Berroco Softwist, which is taking a lot longer than I'd anticipated. My goal is to get it finished by Thanksgiving!

It's easy to become obsessed about knitting, isn't it? What LYS do you like? There are so many to choose from around here, but the stores I like are all too far away for casual visits. But then, maybe that's a good thing.

Hope you can come visit us this Friday morning. We'll be at the Dunn Bros. in Champlin at 10am again.

What about the Yarn Cafe or Amazing Threads in Maple Grove? They are worth a visit. My LYS is the Yarnery but I'm willing to travel! Keep up with the knitting - my first works were mitten and hat sets. Now, I know better. Make those sets of THREE mittens!

I would have to say my favorite LYS up here is All About Yarn in Coon Rapids - they've certainly help feed my Noro habit. I like Yarn Cafe (Collette Point Five...ohhhhhh) and I had pretty much written off Amazing Threads as too clicky until recently - had some great gals help me there about 2 months ago, so they're back on my list. Still have to drive down the Three Kittens and the Yarnery too!
